The hermit crab

My blog like my garden, has been left unattended for the past few weeks.

My blog and my garden are my sanctuaries. In my blog I get to say and write whatever and whenever I please. I feel peaceful putting (virtual) pen to (virtual) paper. I get the same peaceful feelings when I'm out there in the early morning sunshine, pulling out weed or moving flower pots around.

Nobody harassed me to write or not to write, neither was I was forced out of my garden. But the past few weeks drained both my physical and mental well being. Nothing earth shattering happened, but the crab in me crawled back into her shell.

Has the crab been reinvented? Re engineered? Remodelled?

I am waiting to find out.

Dear Anne,

The crab definitely need some moments to itself. I should know, I've been there and always being there... and have many a time find myself retreating into my make believe shell and brood for days, weeks and months. Funny thing is, I write better when sentimentality sets in; but I write in my secret journal... my jotted inner-thoughts is something I guarded like a rottweiler! It helps, in a way...

..ladies..we all need and have sanctuaries..places of retreat..be it real or be it virtual..hopefully in retreating there, we find peace and discover a little of ourselves..no, we shouldn't likened it to the crab retreating into its shell..rather a butterfly flitting into its garden..lili's in-between garden..
..cheers, ladies, hope pakmat is making sense..

Well, after the lovely Khalil Gibran quote from Lili and the Pakmat's cool advice... nothing much I can add.

Just don't stay in the shell for too long. You'll soon outgrow it and need to find another one. That would be a good for a fresh look on things and new ideas to write/blog about.

Salam Lili,

Beautiful quote.

Makes perfect sense to the optimist in me, just wish it'll come out of hiding!

Salam Pak Mat,

Nice thoughts! The image of a yellow butterfly flitting around in the garden cheers me up! Tq!

Salam Oldstock,

I don't intend to. I think I'll go get myself a new haircut and a good head massage!

Thanks everyone!

Dear my friend,
Everyone is good at something.
Everyone is born with a specific ability.
Avoid self-pity, or the pity and sympathy of others. Never allow others to make you feel inferior--they can only do so if you let them. If you continue to loathe and belittle yourself, others are going to do and believe likewise.
Be true and honest to yourself.
You are a person with what you have. People demean their self-worth when comparing possessions.
No magic will happen if you continue to ignore facts.
perhaps I'm wrong...and far too much..
I'm sorry.

Anne, I wonder which type of crab you really n truly are... (betui ka my grammar nih?)

I am always the minute crab yang merayap2 dan terkinja2 masuk dlm lubang yg kecik tu .. heheh.

BTW Anne, you better choose (and I mean it, haha); u nak jadi hermit or crab??

QJ,

Biasa lah...dah lama siket, baik lah semua deria tu, insyaAllah.

CS,

Tak boleh ke nak jadi dua2 sekali? Jadi hermit crab, dapat tukar2 baju selalu. Fed up jer baju lama, cari jer baju baru? Kekekeh!
CS jer anggap diri minute crab, ntah2 sebenarnya lobster! sapa tau?

CS said...

Boleh Anne, you can be both. Make sure baju tu berliplap liplap, okay?

I prefer to be a minute crab .. never like to be in the limelight unlike a lobster esp kat Victoria Station tu. :-)
