The changing times

As a kid way back in primary school, we used to have a singing class! Believe it or not! But people who were there in St Nicholas around late 60's and 70's would remember the class being taken up by none other than the headmistress herself, the one feared by all pupils~ Ms Sibert (she passed away recently- God bless her soul), besides the `Poems to Enjoy' class (mentioned in Naz's post {Serenity Now} sometime back) (Try as i might, I can't recall any poems I tried so hard to memorize in those days save for a short excerpt of...a silver nutmeg on a silver tree...or something to that effect)

Anyway back to the main story, remember the song My Grandfather's Clock? I found the song on U tube...I may be just another makcik blogger but I love all things old and new.

Justify Full

Ms Sibert would rise in her grave if she hears how the song has been re-invented and re-engineered...but I just love it don't you? Have a listen...

the smiling cat owner

I spent the last few days running around after Bruce trying to make him swallow his pills.

Bruce was not well, the vet said he may have a serious liver ailment, evidenced by a blackish gooey substance deposited around his nostril and mouth. He prescribed a liver tonic, piriton to help de-stress Bruce and a round of antibiotics. Do cats really get stressed out? I almost wondered out loud but didn't want to antagonize the vet who was giving his best opinion. But Bruce was gaining weight nicely, at 6 months he's weighing in at 2.975 kg. Whatever, I took him home and vowed to make sure he gets all the rest and medication he needed.

But Bruce had other things on his mind...he made me run more than I had done so in the last 6 months of my life. He wasn't taking it sitting down! He fought and twisted and turned his head until it was almost impossible to hold onto him without breaking his leg or his neck in the process.

Well, i thought...as intelligent as he is...I am going to fool him if it's the last thing I do.

So after the first two days, he's been such an angel, and has been swallowing his pills without any protest, all nicely embedded in chunks of tuna dished out to him.

Oh Bruce! Who's having the last laugh now?

(Sorry guys, since the owner prefers to remain incognito, all you get to see is an image of the smiling cat~not the cat owner, and since i couldn't get Bruce to pose nicely, this one is from the net)

Ayang and her veiled dreams

(ayang and her friends during a farewell outing~Muzium Padi)

My darling daughter was supposed to be registered today at UKM, yet she's here at home. Her reason~ she does not want to do the course she's offered i.e Sarjana Muda Teknologi Maklumat (Sistem Cerdas) That's a whole mouthful eh? I would really appreciate an explanation on what THAT is, but it would be too late for my daughter and I.

She had applied to do a science course, in line with her dreams and what she studied for a year at Matriculation college. Somewhere some smart fool has decided that she's to be diverted to an alien course.

Ah..Ayang...what is it with dreams that we have to hold on tight to it even though we have to weather the storm? It 's so that you'll live a life without regrets, travel the road seldom taken if it will bring you closer to your desires.

For you, the world is waiting...take your time when making choices in life...never hurry and decide when you are not ready.

( Why don't you just take my word for it....you don't have to be a doctor...just marry one!)
